2015 Nebula Awards Nominees Announced

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) announced the nominees for the 2015 Nebula Awards (presented 2016). The Nebula Awards feature the best science fiction and fantasy for a variety of categories. At Science Book a Day, we focus on the Best Novel category and largely on science fiction. The following is the list of nominees for the Best Novel Award and I look forward to featuring the science fiction titles amongst them in the coming weeks.

The winners will be announced  at the SFWA Nebula conference in Chicago on May 14.

Raising Caine by Charles E. Gannon

Book Three in the Nebula award nominated and Compton Crook award winning series. Ancillary Mercy by Ann Leckie

The stunning conclusion to the trilogy that began with the Hugo, Nebula, and Arthur C. Clarke award-winning Ancillary Justice. For a moment, things seemed to be under control for Breq, the soldier who used to be a warship. Then a search of Athoek Station’s slums turns up someone who shouldn’t exist, and a messenger from the mysterious Presger empire arrives, as does Breq’s enemy, the divided and quite possibly insane Anaander Mianaai – ruler of an empire at war with itself. Breq refuses to flee with her ship and crew, because that would leave the people of Athoek in terrible danger. Barsk: The Elephants’ Graveyard by Lawrence M. Schoen
