Congratulations to Gaia Vince for becoming the first woman to win the Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books, which was announced last night at the Royal Society in London. She won for her book Adventures in the Anthropocene: A Journey to the Heart of the Planet we Made, which won from the shortlist of six books I featured recently. She gets to take home 25,000 UK pounds.

The Guardian has a great write up Vince’s win.

Make sure you check out his book, where Vince travels the world, finding examples of organisations and individuals who are doing the best to combat the effects of the Age of Man. Inspiring stuff!
